Dad is the reason for this blog and adventure. He taught me so much about life, people, what it means to sacrifice.
Dad’s journey is not unique or special. He had Alzheimer’s. And we lost him one layer at a time.
While Dad’s journey may not be unique or special, losing someone because of Alzheimer’s is a unique travel through grief. That is not to say that losing someone period, no matter how, is not painful. It is. All I know is what I experienced with Dad, with his consistent decline in memory and physical health. And if my experience can bring just one person hope and possibly joy, then it’s worth the time to write posts.
