Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. (The servant’s name was Malchus.) Jesus commanded Peter, “Put your sword away! Shall I not drink the cup the Father has given me?” John 18:10-11
What is the cup my Father has given me?
* Daughter of a Mom with Dementia Alzheimers
* Sister of a brother who is depressed and paralyzed
* Wife to a husband who is introverted and quiet
* Mother to a daughter who doesn’t need her anymore
* Employee of a business that is of this world
* Friend of friends who don’t know the pain
* Daughter to a dead Father who died of Alzheimer’s
But more importantly, the cup my Father has given me includes being the:
* Daughter of a King who weeps with her
* Daughter of a King who wants her love
* Daughter of a King who gives her strength
* Daughter of a King who will carry her through the hurt
* Daughter of a King who took her cross and gave her life instead.
The cup my Father has given me is that I am a daughter of the One True King who will never fail me.
What’s in your cup?
